I only insure it for 6 months or if I call them to put it on,only have comprehensive in the winter !!!!! not a big deal, why have full coverage if your not driving it ????
Had mine out yesterday, had a nice ride. I was told in Pa. if you suspend the insurance it should be reported to the state. Then they want your plate.
I'm replacing all the interior white bulbs to blue LEDs. I just have the dash lights (cluster) left to do. But...I can't find the instructions. Anyone have them or a link to them. Thanks.
Not even close to counting yet. Michigan likes to mess with us occasionally but is also quick to remind us its still winter. With next saturday having a projected temperature of 1*, im thinking storage insurance stays on for a while longer.

Here you have to have insurance if you have plates. Even if you sell the car, you have to keep insurance until you turn them in.
I have Erie Insurance in PA. They have a layup plan, 90 day minimum. I pay the equivalent of 9 months of insurance and lay it up for 3 months (I pick the dates). No need to turn in my plates or cancel and renew insurance since I technically have a 12 month policy. Hope that clears things up a bit.
I'm also told that once my son turns 16, the Corvette doesn't factor into the premium increase I will get for adding him to my insurance since the Corvette is on a lay-up plan. I'm a few years away from that, so can't confirm yet if that is true.
Why would your insurance company tell you when you're permitted to drive your car?
Very simple. In the north, we can get a discount on insurance if we shut the car down for three months. Considering it's supposed to be cold and bad weather with salt on the roads most winters, why not?
And I've got to be honest, turning on the heater in the vette, just doesn't seem right. Awkward! Can't imagine wearing a coat in a vette.
I also like getting a new car every spring!
