Ok guys this forum has been great and I really hope that I can get a solution that is rather simple and easy to do. I have some "clouding" on the top of my Z06 on the roof. It literally looks like clouds in/on the paint. I have used some rubbing compound in the past that was specifically designed for cars, I can't remember the name or brand, and it did work but only for a short period of time and the "clouding" came back. I guess the "clouding" is more a "hazey" look and its just quite annoying the way it looks. I was curious if anyone else has had this type of issue in the past and if Chadwick's or a similar product would remove it. I have tried several types of wax also and nothing gets rid of it. If it matters the car is Electron Blue.

It certainly sounds like your clear coat has broken down. When you used the rubbing compound it should have been the type that is safe for clear coat paint. If it was an aggressive compound then it is damaged. If you rub the paint do you see color on the rag. If yes then you are now down into the base coat.
You could use the compound again to get the haze removed and try putting a good paint sealer over it to make it last longer. However the only way to fix it would be to have it repainted. If it is just roof area a good paint shop should be able paint and blend into where the areas meet the body. On a Z06 I am not sure that a wrap would look okay.
Yes it was safe for clear coat. I do not have any color come off onto a towel. The surface is smooth as can be, it just looks like its a coat of wax that wasn't removed properly. It isn't that noticeable to anyone except for me. The car has been garage kept since I have owned it(2 years) and it has not gotten any worse. The car was originally sold in Arizona but has 34k miles to date. I hope I can get it at least a little clearer. If not I will just deal with it.

That is good news. You could drive over to a body shop or good detailer to have them look at it. Could also call AutoGeeks to see what they could suggest.
I know where every little scratch is on my car, even if others don't see it.

I had this same issue and tried rubbing it out by hand and was unable to clear the issue on my Black 2000 FRC. I ended up having to get a polisher/buffer and used a good polishing compound and it took it right off. The oxidation will not come off by hand rubbing under most cases. I would be very surprised if this was an issue with the paint needing to be repainted unless the car has been left outside everyday for the last 15 yrs. The paint on these cars is actually pretty good.
You may want to post this in the Car Care section of the forum. There are some professional detailers that hang out over there and may be able to help. Good luck.
I know a guy that I used to work with that now manages the detail shop at a LARGE local Chevy Dealership maybe he can help me out. The clear coat seems to be ok and I will see if he has something that can buff it out. I used hand pressure before and it came back just over a week later after the car sat in a garage under a cover. Thanks for all the input guys I really appreciate it.
I will also attempt to get a pic and load it up, but its rather hard to see in pictures but I will try it.
Many waxes that are Carnauba based turn yellow or cloudy under certain conditions... Dark colors and high UV rays and heat.. you mentions Electron Blue ( a dark color ) you mentioned Arizona, High UV ray area and lots of heat. Carnauba can break down under heat and UV rays and impregnate the top layers of the clear coat.
A professional detailer can remove that cloudiness. When you tried to do it yourself and were successful, you removed the top surface but didn't get it all.. and after some UV rays, that old wax got cloudy, Probably the next time you remove those cloudy areas you will have removed it all.
Carnauba is yellow.. its organic and breaks down into a cloudy film under extreme conditions.

get yourself a can of Naphtha. Home Depot, Lowes, good Hardware Stores carry it. Naphtha is nothing more then a degreasing solvent .
Dampen a rag with the stuff and wipe the area that's cloudy. repeat a couple of times using a clean rag each time. The solvent evaporates rapidly and you don't have to worry, it will not harm the paint.
Clean the area good and try waxing it again and see if the cloudiness returns.
Thanks again for all the input. I will try both of those suggestions. The cloudiness is just killing the look of the car on the top if someone knows what they are looking for.
