Default Call for help!!!!

I caught the front end on my black C5 on my other car pulling out this morning. It does not look like I ruined the paint but it looks like a giant smudge for lack of a better word. Can I buff that out without a buffer?! Any suggestions?!

Well with out any pictures, I'd say why not try. A buffer would make it easy.

If you have a clay bar try that first. Polish would be next, both by hand. This is what i would try. Im sure you will get many more suggestion.

I've never used a buffer. Would be too afraid of damaging the paint.

After the clay bar, some rubbing compound and polish. Do it by hand and take your time.

OK it's been since yesterday and it's time to learn the rules of the forum.

Pony up the pictures nOOb . . .

The forum can't help what the forum can't see. Lesson learned

I used a clay bar, and also used McGuire's rubbing compound. Buffing it out on Wednesday. But open to any suggestions. Sorry for the delay as I work a lot

Are the pics after clay bar and compound, or before? Also, be very careful of polishing compound!! You can go way deeper into the finish than you realize, real quick!! Even by hand.

You can give the buffing a try, but I'm thinking that may require a bit more to get those scratches out.

The pics are after clay bar and rubbing compound. Going to buff it on Wednesday. If that fails, I will have to find a place to paint entire bottom spoiler. Any ideas if it comes to paint repair by a pro the cost? I can't see it costing more than a grand to sand and paint

why not take it to a pro detailer. He will know if it can be buffed out....
For paint, the front fascia has to come off... any shop who says they can do it on the car, I would stay away from. The fascia has to be stripped down, corner light pods and fog lights and panels removed, front emblem has to be heated off, and a new rubber glue gasket installed, removal will distort the old one. The fascia had to be sanded and sealed, primed, painted, and wet sanded and cleared, then wet sanded and buffed. Completed fascia has to be reassembled and installed.
1000 is about right.

My wife backed her Subaru into a cement base for a pole. Rear bumper had to be removed and repainted-cost $500. It does have a bumper applique as they call it which had to be removed before painting.

did the same thing to our 03. Wife stuck the nose under an SUV at a stop light and had scuff marks on the hood and one headlight cover. I buffed out about 90% of it with a Flex orbital. Lived with it for about a year, and hated looking at it every day, so last month took it in to the paint shop.

I had some other cosmetic stuff painted on the front but basically, to remove and repaint hood and headlight cover was $1200. All good now and got rid of about 13yrs of rock chips to boot

My detail guy is coming over on Wednesday and he is an absolute wizard with his buffer. If he can't get it out, nobody can. Will post pics on Wednesday. I am in Vegas, so if I do I have to go the paint repair route, I could use a few suggestions if any of you know a reputable place here. Thanks again for your help and suggestions!
