I have had a small oil leak from the rear engine cover plate for months now. It smelled bad and made a mess in the garage. I finally had a long weekend to tackle this project. I had lots of good advice from Laurelle, Jamie, and Jay at Top Flight Auto in west Palm Beach Florida. It was a beast of a project to do in my garage on jack stands but worth it in the end.
Getting started. Couldn't lift the car too high because the ATV jack would not reach any higher .
Rear suspension disconnected and almost ready to lower
Ready to lower the drivetrain.
The mess that the rear cover leak made. It would drip out of the bell housing and spread from front to back.
Rear end lowered and pulled back far enough to replace the rear cover. Lots of good help from my Father-in-law, Wife, and Kids.
Lots of zip-locks and labeling makes things go smooth.
Lot's of work for a $45 part.
All back together.
The best part of the project was the 2 hour test drive to the lake and back with my wife.
