Are you replacing a glass top? The reason I ask is that if you have a painted one, don't waste your money on a clear one. They are very hot in the summer. I always ended up putting a liner in them so it kind of defeated the purpose, I guess. Just my 2 cents. Since my last two c5's have been ragtops, I don't know the going rate for one.
Be warned the glass top is significantly noisier than the conventional one.
When you buy inspect it VERY carefully looking from the inside into the sun or a bright light. These tops do deteriorate and I think the phrase is delaminate. My car was extremely well cared for but in bright sun looking out is what I will call pixelated. (looks pitted but is not).

I am in Toronto and believe me it is very hot!
That lexan should be polished and taken care of just like the clear coat. The sun alone will damage it. I use polish with UV protection.
The sun during the summers in FL can get hot. I assume the painted top would be the top of choice during the summer season. Winters in FL it's either the Lexan top or nothing.
Best price I've found for body-colored top in good (but not perfect) shape is ~$300. I would expect glass to be a little less, but that's just a guess.
I have had the Lexan top on mine for 15 years (C5 is my DD) - still looks like new. I do wipe it down with Zaino Detailer or Chadwicks every day or two and I rarely leave it parked in the sun for more than an hour (I drive mostly at night and keep it garaged). Have always used sealants on it - never wax!
I am sure if I parked it in the sun the heat could be a problem, but it has never really bothered me.
