The lot where I got the car has a couple of them. He wanted three hundred the last time I ask, but now wants four hundred. I've bought two cars from him and now he's pissing me off. I want the top, and if anyone else had it I wouldn't think anything about it. But.... not sure I ever want to deal with him again. I overpaid for the car when I got it, and the top could have been with the car too.
What diff does it make if it came with car? Its his now and you want it, its worth the same no matter who owns it, whatever someone will pay. If its not a good deal, walk away!

I got the top. It wasn't the price that was the issue, or what car it came off of. It was his attitude and the fact he had already priced one to me before. I would have paid someone else five hundred and not thought anything about it.
Oh well, just don't plan on doing anymore business with him.

Now get a nice coat of UV protection on it of polish. Don't use anything on that top that you would not use on the painted surface. It is clear coated.

You always have that choice, just like he had a choice to sell it for whatever he wants, he's a dealer in business to make money, sounds like 300.00 was too good of a deal and he knew when you came back, he knows your time is money and buying one over the Internet sight unseen is a crap shoot, I would always pay a little more to buy local on something used, he also knows that.
Just enjoy your car and your top, people always (I'm not saying you) want to brag about the great deal they got to a point where sometimes I think they will lie about what they paid so they can feel better, so sometimes people who are honest about what they paid (like you) feel you over paid.
I'm sure you did fine on your car, you obviously are smart and check prices on things that's why you asked here about the top. People who are cautious buy too late and sell too soon to get the absolute best deal but are rarely ripped off.
This is not meant to **** you off, I hope it does not! Life really is too short!
