In the rear compartment of my '04 conv, in the left hand cubbyhole there is an electrical module with three cables unconnected. If i was to take a wild guess this is part of the F55 system.
The magnetic shocks have been discarded by the PO due to leakage and one seizing up and "regular" shocks used in place of them.
Is there any reason for disconnecting these cables and what would be the down side of reconnecting them ? thanks, Bob C
Could they be cables from a power amp on some aftermarket sound system. I have the magnetic ride and never seen any cables in any cubby or compartment related to the shocks or otherwise. (Ooops just read 8VETTE7 link and there are some wires somewhere but I never seen any?!)

The F45/55 module is in the driver side rear cubby, under a carpet colored cover.
The process of deleting the F55 RPO from the BCM to be able to use NON-F55 shocks is very specific and requires disconnecting the electronics for the F55 system and not reconnecting the electronics. If you reconnect the cables the car will immediately have the F55 feature and the vehicle speed will be limited to 80MPH. (no F55 shocks). Just disconnecting the cables (after reconnecting them) does NOT remove the F55 RPO. You MUST find someone with a Tech II and go through the RPO elimination process all over.
I suggest you tape over the ends of the connectors and put a tag on them stating "DO NOT RECONNECT".
Here is a link from back in 2010 about deleting F55.
