Bought a used C5 and the RR sensor would not program (no horn beep). Had The sensor replaced and still no joy. Tech used the portable electronic tool and it still will not cooperate. Any ideas?

There are also aftermarket sensors that train by different methods such as letting out air, etc.
Let us know what you got and maybe someone here can point you in the right direction.
If they are OEM or Schrader brands and they match the early or late rfa receiver, then they should train with a magnet. Sometimes it trains easier if you position the magnet in the barrel of the wheel at the sensor instead of at the valve stem since the magnet can be closer to the sensor.
What came out of the tire was a Schrader Bridgeport. What the tech tried was a Qwik-Sensor. He tried to program through the DIC with the magnet and a handheld electronic tool of some sort. The handheld tool would indicate pass, but the instructions stated to do the OEM re-learn procedure for that specific vehicle.
LF and RF would beep but RR, nothing.
He said, and the Qwik-Sensor web site concurred, that these sensors work on 94% of TPMS equipped vehicles. I guess the C5 is in the 6%.
He ordered an OEM art from GM. Should arrive Monday for another try.
To save some time and make sure they work, they can be trained to the car before they are put into the wheel/tire.
This makes it easier to hold the magnet to the sensor and train it to the car. You just need to make sure you mount it in the wheel for the position on the car it was trained for.
Note that it will show zero pressure and may give a warning message since it is not inside the tire with pressure, but that will go away when it is mounted and the sensor sees pressure.
Just an easy way to train it and to make sure the new sensor is actually working.
What Year....I have 4 sensors from a 02 Vette...one was said to be New...it is different then the other 3 if it's a year that will work for ya...I can send you one...I went ahead and installed 4 new ones in mine...so let me know I do have 4 02's
On my 2004 and with aftermarket wheels I had trouble activating the sensor when I replaced one. I bought a 40lb magnet from that bid site and it worked like a charm. You can get one for about 10 bucks. Nothing else would work.
