You'll get lots of opinions on this topic. I run a set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires on my car and really like them. They handle well, perform well on wet weather, offer a good ride and have very low road noise. Best of all, they do not break the bank to purchase them - about $600-650 for a set.

Lots of opinions of this forum about that very subject. Tire rack has some good tests, ratings as well. I'm going through the same research as my tires have far surpassed their age limit. I think the top 3 factors are:

1. How do you plan to drive the car?
2. Climate?
3. Budget

The Michelin PS2's were 1500+ (I have larger Z06 wheels) so that affected my decision but there are plenty of choices in stock sizes. However if you can afford Michelin's, I don't think you can go wrong. My 2c.Good luck.

Don't know what state you are in...If you want to drive year round and not worry about needing fix a flat (which might goop up the TPS system) :

Michelin pilot sport a/s zp's. Good wear/traction, regardless of weather.
Quieter than the OEM Goodyears. On my 3rd set of these.

I tried Firestone firehawk once. Good price and wear, but much like summer only tires, slippery under 45 deg or so.

put michelin on one vette last spring and have over 200 miles on them and we are very pleased . need tires for another vette and ''tire rack'' site says b f goodrich or continental . never had either one but will have one or the other when weather gets nicer ....edit: be nice to know how quiet tires you recommend are and maybe ride quality . . peace

If price is no object then Michelins. If you want a good tire for a lot less money, Hankooks or Bridgestones. I have Bridgestone Potenzas and I love them.

I've been very pleased with my Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires (non-run flat). These are all season tires and have been superb so far. Great handling, traction, response. I'd buy them again ($895).

I have Michelin runflats - car had Nitto 555s when I bought it . . .better ride but non-runflat. Michelins are double the cost. Had Goodyears on my C6.

There's a search feature in the upper right--top of the topic listings. You can plug in the various tire brand names and read opinions until your head explodes- as you can imagine, it's a regular topic.

I've got the Conti DWS06 on my Challenger and they are great. Big improvement over the original Goodyears. I had Vredestiens on my Z06 and they were terrific too.

Everyone has their own take on this. I just bought Michelien A/S run flats and I love them. Quiet and smooth while gripping when you need it. Choose wisely. It's a big investment.

I had Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas which are a #1 rated tire in Europe, they do lousy marketing here. They were fantastic tires if you can find a set, but unfortunately they discontinued the sizes for my car. So I was going to get Michelin Super Sports, an extremely high rated tire, but they too have discontinued sizes for Corvette rears. My choice now, since I'll be getting tires this spring, is Continental DW's, unless they also cancel the sizes Vettes need (295/35-18, which is a stock Z06 rear).

Everyone will tell you what they have, some do little research, some do a lot of research. Some have deep pockets, and some do not.

The first consideration , when you say the best is ... what it your budget?
Next would be what type of driving do you do, by percentage: city driving %, highway driving %, Long trip touring ? Spirited street, actual track events... what type of track events? How many miles a year, etc. Garage queen or Daily driver.

Anyone who will give you an opinion is giving you their opinion, on their usage. and without knowing your demands and desires and budget, All these suggestions are based on their personal preference and not yours.

How can anyone give you " The Best " without knowledge of your driving habits and budget.
