Did a search on seat foam and ran across several post where owners replaced there foams last year and I was wondering how they are holding up. I read where some thought the aftermarkets were a little firm. I'm looking at just replacing the bottoms and was looking at Cultrags, there site lists separate numbers for left and right (significant difference in cost) where other sites don't?? They list a "luxury seat" is that the sport seat? Been lurking around this forum since I brought my C5 back from Florida a year ago and have to say I've learned a lot about the car and saved a few bucks too, just fixed the rocking seats for $4.40 plus tax. Thanks to all for the help.
I replace the foam in my 2001 coupe with sports seats. I purchased the foam from Corvette America. The shipping is fairly high but the size of the boxes causes that. I was very pleased with the quality of their products as well.
I would think that the luxury seats were the sports seats also.
I too have new foam from Mid America, and an very pleased. When you take your seats apart you will be amazed how deteriorated the foam really is. I would never put new covers on old foam. My seats may be better than brand new.
I went to Target and bought a 4.99 door mat and cut it to fit over the springs to keep from cutting into the foam seat bottom. Held it in place with a couple of tie straps. I also used some fuel line tubing on the bolster edges and lower seat frame edges, held in place with gorilla tape to keep from cutting into the foam as well. Got the idea here. http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...d.php?t=104955

So I found the drivers side frame is split at the side bolster, I saw one thread where a guy fixed by placing sheet metal on both sides and screwed together has anybody tried repairing with fiberglass?
