I'm also on LS1 TECH and 1948-1956 F100 forums, the f100 forum is full of very knowledgeable and nice helpful people. LS1 tech a bunch of trash talking racers, but they do help when needed. L8R ZFLASH

Chevy had a turbo for 7 years back in the 60's... and fuel injected V8 passenger cars...back in the 50's... I'm also older now... Much older. I still drive a Corvette too.

You are right DISTURBD! I cant believe Ive been a part of this forum since 07. The amount of knowledge and HELP I have obtained from indviduals over the years such as yourself, E.T., Bill Curlee, akapounder, 8VETTE7, robz, etc. ( I could go ON and ON with this list) has just been remarkable! I was actually just speaking to my pops over the phone last week about this very thing in the upcoming SWPS I will be changing when I return from my deployment soon. BTW thanks again akapounder!!!! Cant wait to get home to see what all is on that disc. I have been a part of LS1Tech for longer but the day I bought my ZO6, I have spent 95% of my time here. Just an all around better group of folks to listen to and laugh with

I've checked other forums and yes, this one really does outshine them by a wide margin.

Not to debate your knowledge Bill, but my point wasn't who had one first, but wasn't the turbo Buick GN faster than the Corvette?

I believe that ruffled some feathers back in the day.

This forum definitely rocks..... Only been an active member for about 2 weeks, but so far so good. I (was) am fairly active on F150online and always felt like we had a pretty solid base of reputable/knowledgable/friendly users. You get the occasional jerk, but other than that a pretty good community.

I am usually hanging out over there in the 2015-2016 F-150 section. I am a huge Ford Truck Fan Boy.... Lots of folks find it funny that our DD's are Ford's, but I have a Vette in the garage... I can't tell you how many times folks have asked "Why don't you have a mustang?" .

I like some of the SVT Vehicles and of course the new Ford Performance lines, but I have always had a love for GM Performance and anything that came out of Bowling Green!

I remember a bulb out in my dash. Ford wanted to replace the instrument cluster, about $1500. I took the dash apart and replaced a bulb for 50 cents.

You are absolutely right... I knew exactly what your where trying to say, but I had to counter that Buick Studio design with much earlier design technology, that was ground breaking, from the Chevy camp. You may not know this but the rivalry within GM was always very competitive.. without going into detail or the politics. From my experience, the Corvette Studio always had an extra measure of design passion. Same with the manufacturing plant.

Let me address that bulb replacement. Times have changed. this is 2016. Not 1970.

Your TV is broke? try to find a TV repairman to come to your house and replace the High voltage tube, or the channel selector illumination bulb? Today's TV's are throw away.
We live in a throw away society. No one fixes a tv anymore.. can they be fixed? sure.

Ford doesn't have a tech, with bulbs for every bulb and diode in their box.

Does radio shack have what you need? sure but ford is not going to go to radio shack, there is no procedure or labor code or protocol to do so.

Want your dash to work? the procedure from Ford is to replace the dash.

It was a 2009 truck! That $1500 paid for shocks and tires at 100k!

I was very aware of the division rivalry back in the day. You know it better, but there were plenty of projects, skunk works, back in the day.

I do love the current HP wars we are watching today, especially when the vehicle do much more than straight line acceleration.

.
Not unless you go online. Most radio shack stores are gone. In the last few years most were closed. And even before that the bits and pieces section had dwindled. In my youth we would go there for bits and pieces to experiment and create. By 2005 I'd say, most radio shack stores had a tiny selection compared to before. They had become mostly a cell phone store. If you play in the electronic realm you either have to be lucky enough to have a good mom and pop shop around or go online. It's sad. This generation lacks the tinkering mentality.

haha that's why the military spends so much money. Even though there are DIFM procedures, there are PLENTY of times where said component could be fixed in back shop.

Corrected that for you. There are a few millennials that enjoy tinkering and I happen to be one of them.

LOL...classic!

In all seriousness to the OP, yes I do realize how god we have it here. I've experienced "far less" collegiality on other forums that I've tried to use for help with other vehicles and/or products.
