Hello everyone,
I just bought a pristine 01 with Borla cat backs. I've had quite a bit of experience building engines both import and domestic, even spent two years on the BME Top Fuel team in NHRA. But this is my first Vette and I want to do things the right way. Could you fine folks kindly advise me about handheld tuners and such? I know the obvious cold air intake, 1.82 replacement rockers from what I hear are also good aside from a good exhaust system which I already have. So I guess I'm looking to see what everyone thinks I should do to my car to pump some ponies without getting internal. Thank you all well in advance.

Long tube headers after the intake. Stall if the car is an automatic. Since you have experience building/tuning vehicles, a handheld would probably be a viable option. Plenty to choose from. Welcome to the club.

Car is 6 speed actually. But thank you for the long tube header advice Torch Red.

The LT headers are a good mod, and a new set of rear gears would really wake the car up. You already have the LS6 intake on the car, so unless you want to go with something like a FAST intake, you should be OK.
I've never used a handheld tuner, but there are several forum vendors (Corvettes of Winchester, East Coast Supercharging) that offer a mail order tune that gets good reviews.
Actually the stock rockers are ok, but I do suggest the Trunnion upgrade to the stock rockers
Smokin, thank you for the info on the trunnions but wouldn't it be just as cost effective to spend a few bucks more and get the set? Or is it a significant savings by purchasing just the trunnions?

Silly question I know so from what you said the Vettes come factory with the LS6 intake? Sorry to be a lame duck but still learning the proper nomenclature of the car. Thanks for the advice also.

Do the stock trunnions have a failure rate comparable to the yellow valve springs or is this a mod that is typically done when aftermarket cam/springs are installed for peace of mind due to increased pressures applied due to previous mentioned upgrades? I just recieved my pac1218 springs and titanium retainers last night to replace my yellow springs. Cam not till next winter, but if factory trunnions aren't failing at an alarming rate why do so many upgrade or recommend this.✌
Welcome … stop by the C5 performance section like minded folks always ready to share information especially with driving a stick
I'm am auto (A4 old farts club) but understand seat time for a stick is at the top of the list when trying to get as much as you can out of the car.
There is a fast list both 1/8, 1/4 and half mile times there in stickies

Only the Z06's come from factory with all of the LS6 goodies.
Is the Varaam the best intake and is the power duct necessary? I have a stock 03 z
The Vararam is a great intake. Is it the best? Many wise men have tried and failed to answer that question definitively... The Power duct is NOT required, and from what I've read, it's a waste of money.

If I remember right I paid approx 135.00 for the kit

Wow! That's not bad at all compared to around 400 plus depending where you shop for the rocker kit. Maybe 350? Thank you! Do you have a part number by chance?
