Before I retired from full time work, 8 years ago, the round trip for my home to work and back again, was 48 miles. For several years after that, I worked 2.5 days a week, at a local auto parts store. The place was about 3 miles from my house, but I took the "scenic route", of 6-7 miles, just to make sure the car warmed up. However, I also had a Z/28 Camaro at the same time, that I split the mileage with. And both of them sat out the winter.
My '01 C-5 has a hair under 25,000 miles on it, and last year, when I sold the '96 Z/28, it had 78,000 miles on it.
Bought my '02 two years ago with 50k miles. now has 58,400. Its in a car capsule from Nov. till March and then drive 2 days to work each week 50 miles round trip. So 100 miles per week and weekend drives on nice days. So about 4k per year. I would drive it to work the other 2 work days but want to keep the mileage down. My job is a 4 day work week (40hrs) so have 3 day weekends all year long. Leaves me Fridays to wash/detail and drive.
Bought the car last year with around 54k, now has around 58k...My job is about 9 miles away and most of the time I carpool with the wife. This year averaging around 8-12 miles a day.
I live about 12 miles from work. Switch between my truck and car, so less than 24 miles per day. Bought in October with 44k and is now 47k on odometer.
I was traveling about 100 miles per day commute. I put about 20k miles per year on my Corvettes for about 5 years. Good days, bad days, rain days, snow days.
I don't have that job any more, so much less now. The last few months zero miles until the salt is off the roads.
I used my 2000 Coupe as a daily for 6 years, adding about 30K to the odometer. Then I got a new job with a 51 mile each way commute. Drove it for around 18 months, running it up to around 130K and then got a dedicated commute car. I got into a van pool and sold the commuter. The Coupe went back to daily duties with a 12 mile round trip to the van. I added a truck to the fleet last summer, so I alternate between the truck and the 2000, so each one gets maybe 50 miles a week now.
Bought my o4 vert 3 years ago with 6570 miles on it currently has 17900 we only drive it in the summer but is our main transportation when weather is good
Bought my 03 the 29th of March 2017 for a 74th birthday present with 109,425 miles on the clock. As of yesterday, 116,600 with about 3 weeks down time for self done repairs. One of 4 vehicles i drive weekly but then I'm retired. LOL.
I bought my '03 back in October with 57k miles on it. Since then it has been my only mode of transportation and I live roughly 52 miles from my job. I have been averaging about 100 miles per day during the week and maybe a little less on weekends. I'm already into the 70k miles. At this rate I think I'll hit 100K within a year... ouch
How many miles do you guys drive per day on average with your Corvette?
I do plan on getting another commuter car as soon as I can, but for now the Vette is my only wheels.
My car is dd also but I’m retired . I never put it away , I’m on LI, New York It’s garaged , and I don’t take it out in terrible weather. But it’s seen rain and snow . I bought it April 2015 with 24k and have 44900 now . I love driving it , I’m going out now to Xmas shop . You saw the one with over 700000 miles ? Ide rather drive it . Mine is stock auto and it’s gonna stay that way . Good luck , isn’t it great to drive all the time ?
My first C5 I put 25k miles in 12 months, my second C6 I bought it new and put 50k miles in 24 months, I bought myself a used Honda accord for daily driving, now my third C5 do not get drive it at all unless it's for car meets, sometimes for months.
Moral of the story, having another daily drive car is less expensive and more comfortable.
38 miles to work on the highway, 46 miles home the "fun route" on my commute and I take the long way most everywhere in the car. I have racked up just over 80k miles in 4 years. I was a little shocked to see 152k miles when I replaced the battery.
0 miles per day really, since I didn't buy it to drive every day.
i'll get it out on the weekends between April and October and put anywhere from 70-200mi on it every time I get it out. Sometimes it'll sit for a few weeks. I have a daily driver, a motorcycle, and another Vette (mostly track car). Not terribly concerned about getting a particular amount of miles on a car, I just use the vehicles when I feel like it.
