I have a set of CCW polished aluminum wheels. I would like to have them painted. They didn't do such a good job polishing them when I received them. Maybe I should of returned them when I opened the box's. Very difficult to maintain to my satisfaction Not the shine, but the hard white water spots, tried everything, Moving on. I don't know enough to either go with powder coating them, or having them painted with the appropriate application (paint) Concerned about chipping, brake dust etc. Not used in rain or snow.
You're not satisfied with them -- return them.
If that's not possible (for what-ever reason) you could have them re-polished (check for local wheel restoration).
What have you been using when you've tried to remove the white spots? They should be easy to maintain, but they do require elbow grease every now and then. I personally like Adams metal polish as it does a great job and is easy to clean up. Try searching some of toque's posts to see the whole polishing process in detail.

Would you please give me a hint of how to reach out to toque's posts, if you can. I do agree about Adams, mothers is pretty good also. Not complaining about the elbow grease to much, it's the results. These products offer a really nice shine, but lack the ability to remove the white spots, which keep returning.

Just to clarify - were they not polished properly from CCW or did you buy them from an individual? Would be highly unusual for CCW to send out a poorly polished set.

You know, I felt the same way. I bought wheels and tires, straight from CCW. I contacted them, but they seem to implie I was not cleaning them properly. I have now come to realize, I'm not the only one!
