That was close...
I've been seeing a number of threads where new owners have run into misfortune. Last night I almost joined that list. After work I was headed to my wife's barber shop to pick her up and go to dinner. I live in the Houston area, and there are some things you don't think about when driving in the city, such as having a deer come running across your path, but that's what happened. I saw it at the last second and had just enough time to get hard on the brakes. I managed to stop about a foot short of a collision. Thank goodness for Corvette stopping power. In either of my other cars, I don't think I would have stopped in time.

Glad we are not reading about another wreck - there unfortunately has been too many owners that have had some damage done to their cars lately.
It is nice that the C5 has good brakes, and precise steering. Those things help prevent a lot of collisions.

I worry about them every time I drive at night here (N.Ga). Fortunately I've only had one close call in 4+ years, and it's true what they say...
You can usually avoid the first one but watch out for the 2nd one!

Cant imagine hitting one of those in a Vette, winding up in ones lap is believable
Few yrs ago early in the morning headed back from work one almost hit me. Spotted him about 100 yds out, he saw me and started full charge down the road. Right towards me
Slammed the brakes stopped and stayed stopped-
It veered off the road last minute tried to jump a chain link fence and failed...bounced off that and across the st he went. Was concerned even in a full sized truck.
This was in Los Angeles of all places

Boy, you guys have never driven in MT...we had a traffic jam going to Conrad on Friday! Must have been at least 3 cars in sight. Got to stretch the legs of the 'vert a bit. Hit 140 in about a heartbeat. Mentioned to the bride how much slower 90 felt after that
