Heavy steering issue
I've had a number of C5s but recently picked up a high mileage, (100k),
1999 convertible. The car is properly aligned with matching, stock-size tires. Car runs fine and drives straight but has heavy steering. At low speeds, it almost feels a like manual rack. Power steering fluid is full. Am I missing something obvious? Thanx.

Stupid question...
I thought I read that magnasteer provides variable assist by adding to the hydraulic system at low speed and increasing resistance at high speed, while the hydraulic system stays constant.
If magnasteer failed, wouldn't the hydraulic assist still work?
