I have a 04 convertible automatic C5, I pulled in my driveway (incline) put in park and shut off as I was getting out the car starting rolling backwards. I put emergency brake on and got out . Later I got in the car to drive in the garage and it won't start . No cranking nothing, lights come on until I turn ignition to start . I tried jumping and still nothing . Pulled battery cable off of terminal and then back . The batter is fully charged it acts like its not in park so that's why it won't start . Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Doug
Try starting with shifter in neutral.Slipping out of Park needs to be addressed ASAP.I think there are contact switches for both Park and Neutral. It could just be the shifter needing adjusted to engage Park and thus enable the safety switch.I always hated parking on an incline with and Automatic. You have to set the E brake before shifting into Park.Saves stress on transmission parts. Here is a link.https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-located.html
I ended up pushing it in garage have taken console off of shifter everything looks ok , move shifter from park to neutral back and forth and turning ignition switch on , nothing
Did one end of your shift cable break. If it started to roll after you put it in "park", it may not be in park, thus not allowing it to start. You may have to crawl under the car and shift it at the transmission to put it park.

If it started to roll when in park that would be my guess, too.

Car doesn't start in neutral either, so I'm thinking it's the cable that hooks to transmission, it looks hard to get to as the exhaust is in in the way ..any hints to verify cable is broke and how do u change it if it is ..
Appreciate all your help
