My area (the Alabama Gulf Coast) suffered through the same weather system you're dealing with, but it cleared up here yesterday and the next few days are supposed to be sunny and warm. Maybe that'll be the case for you too. I can't decide what to take to work tonight ... the VTX 1800C or the Corvette ... decisions, decisions...

Don't complain too much guys. I am just starting to think about getting the vette out. Still too many stones on the road. And I am about nuts. Well, nuttier than usual.

Same issue, but my dilemma is the Z06 or a Victory Kingpin!

It was 67 and sunny in Wisconsin on Saturday, so I pulled the cover off and one thing led to another. Changed oil, replaced tensioner, dusted it off and put the battery back in. I had to fire it and up and as long as it was running, dropped the top and took it for a spin. After an hour of cruising I remembered I took the insurance off it last fall, so I hightailed it home hoping not to hit anything. Sunday I "clayed" it with a new nano pad and machine polished. It looks like the weather is going bad again for the next few weeks, so tender is hooked up and cover is back on. It was fun while it lasted.

I know it means a clean up afterwards, but you really can drive them in the rain.

Don't feel too bad - the weather is the same here too. Got to expect lots of wet weather as spring approaches. Hopefully you'll get a break in the weather soon and can get your Vette fix.

Really Pappy, looks like I can get mine out (for the first time in 6 mo.) a month early as long as the weather forecast holds

Don't worry and drive it..! Treat it like a Honda and drive the hell out of it. You'll be much happier. These aren't going to ever increase in value or become collectible.

No, but I want my C5 to last for a really long time. It is already 15 years old and still looks and runs like new even though I put 6 to 8 thousand miles on it every driving season. I would never treat a Corvette like a Honda. Corvettes are special and I am very happy with mine.

I hear ya. However, I don't think my Z is "special" as I think that it is just a car. I drive mine and if it ever breaks, and if I still love C5's at that time, I'll just buy another. Way too many out there. If they were rare, then I'd be more careful and put less miles on it. It's not to say that I don't take meticulous care of my cars. I do..! I'm saying, they are cars and cars are made to be driven.

Yep. I do drive mine. Took it on 4000 and a 2000 mile road trips and numerous other shorter trips.. Planning another 2000 mile trip this summer. I take care of it so it is less likely to break down and it still looks great. I don't drive it in bad weather because I don't have to.
