Headers are a lot hotter, and being in front a lot more to heat soak. Also helps to keep heat in header to increase flow. I doubt there is much heat to enter the cabin from the mufflers, but if I was to do anything, I would sound dampen the rear with something that rejects heat too.

The closer to the motor the hotter, thus more beneficial (underhood temps and neglible power at headers, inside temps perhaps from mid pipe). I'd consider coating the mid pipe, but can't see much advantage to doing the mufflers. Plus... issues with muffler packing?
