Hi all,
I was having problems with bumps in the road and the car turning off and so I took apart the ignition switch and sure enough there were dirty contacts inside. I cleaned them up with 2000 grit sand paper and reassembled it all and hooked it up. When I first reconnected power and turned the key, the speedo was pegged past 200 MPH and so I turned power off unplugged and replugged everything. Now, when I turn the key nothing happens at all. The cluster doesn't even do the thing where the needles move. I've triple checked that everything is hooked up correctly is there something I am missing or did I screw something up? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

id say just replace the ignition switch. I just did mine and it cost about $40 for a used one off ebay and took about 30 minutes with me figuring everything out as I went.
Well I ended up taking it apart again and somehow one of the contacts got bent out of place when I put it back together the first time. Bent it back into place and the car starts up okay now. Thanks for all the responses
