I bought my car at the end of October, so I didn't really get a chance to drive it much. Over the winter I put different wheels on it. Now that it's getting nicer I'm able to get some miles on it. The problem is, at around 60-70 mph I got a very slight vibration that comes and goes. I figured it the wheels/tires weren't balanced right. I took them somewhere else and had them redone. The weights were in totally different spots so I figured that was the problem. I put them back on, same issue. Not sure where to look next. I'm not sure if it was like this when I bought it and didn't notice it, or if it happened with the changing of the wheels. Any ideas?
Well it could be suspension components eg sway bar links..wheel bearings or still a balancing issue. Other things could be some engine driven components eg water pump or alternator idler pulley etc. these will appear at some constant rpm on driveway. Check what rpm your vibration occurs sitting on driveway rev motor to this rpm and see if vibration occur. For all other diagnosis bring into good front end shop for a wheel alignment...they will tell you what needs to be done before alignment . Also a rim that is not true could be problematic...but should have been caught when balancing was done. Good luck, will involve some detective work for sure. Anyone else have some thoughts?

Could be the wheels, did you have the shimmy with the wheels that were originally on the car. I bought some import wheels had the same problem, don't know if it was excessive run out, out of round or excessive unbalance that could not be resolved with wheel weights.
Had similar problem w aftermarket wheels - one wheel was out of round on back side but took fourth tire shop to find the problem then act of congress to get wheel exchanged & still had to pay return shipping.
Good luck w problem.

I didn't get much seat time in it before I changed wheels so I'm not sure if had the same issue with the factory wheels. It's nothing in the engine because I can push in the clutch and let it idle while at speed and the problem is still there. I was thinking it was the wheels at first but I thought it would have been caught by one of the two shops I took it to to get balanced. I guess I will pull the wheels back off and give them a closer inspection. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Take it somewhere and have them road force balanced. It's more expensive but should fix the problem. I'm 99% sure you have a tire balance problem.
