I purchased and installed a Corsa Xtreme catback on my 2000 FRC a few months back and I've had a constant "thud / banging" noise in the rear cargo area. I've had to adjust the system several times and I can't seem to completely get rid of the sound.
Anyone else have this problem ??
Do I need to replace the muffler hangers with new as the existing ones are now 16 years old ?

I have xtremes and never had that issue... make sure the hangers are bolted down tight and check to see if the rubber is deteriorated and letting the mufflers sag... you might also go over all the pipes/clamps to make sure it is all tight and nothing is rubbing

No, not the over axle pipes.... its the mufflers themselves hitting the underside of the rear tub......

The hangers are bolted down.... I may go ahead and buy some new hangers and see where this goes.... damn thud, thud, thud noise is driving me crazy.... EVERYTIME I hit a bump or rough patches in the road that rattle the suspension I hear that noise.....
My right one hangs a tad low bc the hanger has deteriorated in at the top, causing it to sag. I really need to get that fixed To answer your question, I have never had a thud sound from my exhaust. It did require some aggravating adjustment though when it first went on 7 years ago.

do you have any pics of how it's installed?... maybe someone will be able to spot something... another thing I thought of, make sure the over axle pipes are on the correct side... the pipes look very similar but are different and if you have them mixed up that could probably cause it to not fit properly

I'll get some pics up BEFORE I start working on it.
Over axle pipe are on correct sides...if you have them back-***-wards, they won't bolt up at the x-pipe with the mufflers on.

UPDATE..... Found the noise problem. The OEM hangers were bad. There was WAY too much play on them. I had a spare set from a previous muffler purchase a few years back and they fixed the problem.
