03 Z - Just picked it up the other day. Didn't think I'd need to check if the wipers are working, but this morning some mist on the way to work, so I turn the wipers on and then off, to clear the windshield, they wipe a few times and then instead of stopping and hiding under the hood, they stop in the vertical position, pointing straight up.
Doesn't make a difference if I try intermittent or just the one swipe. Never had this happen. I had them not go down all the way, in which case I just unscrewed and repositioned, but I can't do that in this case. Relay? Motor?

If ANY of the hardware i.e. linkage, motor, controller, etc have ever been off the car or tinkered with, it's very likely the linkage (wiper transmission arms) is/are not back in the correct "at rest" position.
Study this picture carefully. I glomed it off the interwebs. It shows the CORRECT position of the wiper mechanism when AT REST. In PARTICULAR, notice the "pin" is NOT in the slot on the cam. This is CORRECT when at rest (parked). When this position has been achieved and wipers have "parked" themselves, THEN you can reinstall the plastic plenum and re-attach the wiper arms, ALSO in the "parked" position.
I went through some of this issue several years ago, and it's a pretty easy fix, as long as something is not otherwise broken/damaged.
I started to post that link but was hesitant to ruffle any feathers, since it's another site.
The author of that article (AJ), was an active CF member here for a few years. Nice guy.
I used the procedure as outlined in the ref link, and it worked for a while, but I ended up having to replace the gold colored pieces shown in the pictures.
As far as corvette repairs go, it wasn't overly expensive.
If you live in a state that requires a safety inspection, it likely will not pass if the wipers don't park correctly.
Thank you all. It's raining now but I'll try to tear into it asap. Doesn't seem too bad. I'm hoping it's just that prawn that needs unbending. Motor seems to be working fine. I appreciate the help. Will update with findings.
