Found a guy with a Tech 2, had him go through the process of deleting the F45 from my car per some of the posts here on the forum. I have the
ESC connectors unplugged. This guy is only going to be available to help for a short period of time, and I am not ready to replace my shocks yet, probably going to be several months. So, while I have access to him, is there a way to verify that the F45 delete worked without using the Tech 2. He says it looks like it is gone, but did not sound very convincing to me. I don't remember if I got a notification when changing the ride control, right now it does not show anything when I change it. Does that mean the F45 is gone?
My car is a 2000 MN6 Convertible
Thanks

Wouldn't it be frozen at the last setting it was on when power was shut off to the system? I believe f45 shocks are traditional style shockswith an adjustable port for the fluid to increase or decrease dampening?

Never tried it that way. I do know the F45 shocks I took out they fell right back down as in no pressure holding them up.
No, not sure what to unplug. I am not at a point right now where I can jack my car up to pull the wheel off, is the plug down below or up in the
engine compartment?
In the wheel wells and NOT in the engine compartment. At least that is true on my 04 with F55. Doubt you can reach the plug with the wheel still on the car.
That is what I thought. Ordering C6 Z06 shocks from Cultrag, already installed the C6 Z51 sways and metal end links. From what I have read the install is fairly easy and straight forward. I saw where Froggy disconnected his upper control arm for easier access, is that necessary?
I pulled my codes, had U1056H, which I believe is an electronic suspension code. Cleared it, cranked the car, and it was not there. Does it take some time for codes to come back? I do have the ESC unplugged, though that might cause it to throw a code if the f45 was not deleted. I will try to unplug a shock tomorrow. Is the max speed limited to 80 mph the only message in the DIC that it will show, or will it throw some codes as well?
You are correct, F45 removal successful. I pulled my rear wheel and disconnected the shock, no codes and no 80 mph max speed.
One thing is for sure, the ride is crap. Moves up my date on buying the C6 Z06 shocks.
My shocks are bottomed out. I pull up on a 16x16 concrete paver from Lowe's to give me clearance for my floor jack. With the F45 deleted, the paver does not give me enough clearance. Dropped the front end about 1".
What did your mechanic charge to clear the F45 ? I local guy wanted to charge me 1 1/2 hours to get rid of my F55. I think he was trying to pay for the scanner. Bob C

I was lucky, the mechanic that did mine had not done the F45/55 delete before, was not aware that it could be done, so his interest in learning was the fee, no charge. Really cool guy that enjoys what he does. As 8VETTE7 said, only took about 15 minutes.
