Default Heads and cam question

installing a tsp magic stick 4 dual valve spring and hardened pushrod package into my 2003 c5 z06 along with some tsp long tube headers and off road x pipe. already have a vararam intake and a corsa exhaust.

my question is - i wanted to port the heads and add a 102mm intake. if i shave the heads down a little bit when i port them will i be able to raise my compression ratio and get more power out of the setup?

I would port the heads and just port the stock manifold.the ls6 flows well.

Thats a lot of cam. Your PTV(piston to valve) clearance is going to be at or below bare minimums with stock CC'd heads. I wouldn't mill the heads at all unless you measure clearance and/or you are willing to flycut.

Porting the heads, bumping compression and adding a FAST 102 will net you a good chunk in the power department...40rwhp IMO, maybe a bit more if your smart with the combo. It will be noticeable and if your digging that far anyway and have the budget...It would be worthwhile.

Flipped my combo around a little bit...went from 445rwhp/409rwtq to 488rwhp/430rwtq. Big difference when driving, in a good way.
