Supposedly,
according to the folklore , the store's name was sort of an acronym for the store's founders, "Eight Jewish Korean (war) Veterans"...

I remember the store well. Purchased the paperback Jaws novel when it came out over at Korvettes. Never heard of the folklore, this is the first time.

I've heard it too. My wife had a summer job at the Woodbridge store the summer before we got married.

I've seen Two Guys Garage before, but I didn't know they messed with a C5. Definitely going to watch these.

I sort of remember EJ Korvette, because my first transistor radio came from there. My family was back in NJ visiting the relatives, around 1961-62, and my cousin showed me the radio that her father had bought her. It was a Motorola, and compared to today's all plastic radios, this one was a "tank". It had a metal bezel, that encased the outer perimeter of the radio, and the speaker grill was chromed wire mesh. I'm sure it was somewhat expensive, for the day.
Even my father though the radio was "cool", so we went to Korvette's and got one for ourselves. The good old days.......
