OK so I picked up a 98 c5 and hvac blower isn't coming on. I switched the control panel and nothing. This lead me to believe it was the fan it's self. I removed it and used a 12v batterie to test it and sure enough it works.
So then it lead me to believe it was the control module located right behind the motor. Bought a new one from car quest and still not working.
I decided to check the voltage across the 7 prong power wires leading into the module and I went through each fan speed which would make a certain color light up.
Then later I did it again and the only color to light up was the red power wire (1st wire) and that's it. It didn't matter which fan speed it is set to.
There is no power coming out of the module to the fan.
Thus is a hard one for me, help would be appreciated.
Also, exactly what fuses did you test and what relay # or relays did you swap out. Also what fuse box were you doing this in?
MR. Sam
Manual system, I checked every fuse in passenger foot well. Yes every single one. And I can't remember off the top of my head but the relay was for hvac control.
Thank you for the schematic. I'm only always getting voltage on the first pin of the 7 pin connector. Some times the others decide to work when. They want, and when they do give power, your as soon as I plug in the fan it stops.
Please tell us exactly where you get full voltage.
Mr. Sam
I found out it was my relay. I switched it out with a new one but it mus to of been defective. Do you by any chance hAve a schematic for a fast back trunk release. My trunk won't open with the use of the button and I'd like to start tracking it. Thanks
