Default Gear ID Help Please - 2002 C5 Auto

Just picked up a very nice 2002 C5 in Electron Blue. Fairly low miles (75k) and in excellent condition.

I'm probably missing the obvious, but the glove box code for the car is showing what appears to be a 3.42 rearend...but I know that cannot be correct since it's an automatic car.

Any help appreciated.

It has to be a 2.73 or 3.15.

Well...now I feel like an idiot.

My car with the clean Carfax is:

2002 CHEVROLET CORVETTE
VIN: 1G1YY22G025113155

The glove box door and ID apparently belongs to this vehicle:

2004 CHEVROLET CORVETTE
VIN: 1G1YY22G545116748

Love the car - pulled the Carfax - 2 mechanics checked it out. Somehow I feel like I should have done more homework.

That RPO sticker also shows it is a manual tranny car (MN6) and the 3.42 rear gear ratio (GU6). Is the VIN shown on the sticker the same as on the windshield tag? If so, something very strange is going on. Perhaps the previous owner converted the car from a manual to an automatic?

If it were a factory automatic, it would have an RPO of GU2 (2.73) or G90/G92 (3.15/Performance Ratio Rear Axle).

After I posted, saw that you solved the mystery.

Should I be concerned that the numbers don't match or?

Thanks for the help. I've always heard the all matching numbers is pretty important; looks like I missed the bus on this transaction though.
