Default C5 washer hoses

The hose that is attached to the washer pump outlet goes to a fitting somewhere under the cowl, but I cannot see where.

I was replacing the reservoir and accidentally pulled the hose out. Does anyone have a schematic or something that shows me where to reattach the hose?

The washer hose is attached to a connector that has a nipple on the underside of the cowl cover. That connector also has a nipple on the outside of the cowl cover that a hose from the wiper blade assembly connects to. To attach the hose to the underside of the cowl cover, you will need to remove the wiper arm assembly, loosen the cover (push pins and a couple of screws) and then see if you can lift up on the cover enough to be able to connect the hose to the nipple on the connector. If you can't lift up enough on the cover, you may have to remove the cover from the cowl area.

If you are not familiar with how to take the cowl cover completely off, you may want to get a factory service manual for your car (I know, they can be expensive unless you can find a used one - and they come in handy for other projects/repairs) or I can try can try and scan the appropriate pages from my service manual for you.

Thanks, that explanation sounds like exactly what I need. I was hoping there was a way to re-attach the hose without pulling the cowl cover off but I will take our advice, including getting a service manual. Good thing to have regardless.

I have the same problem too, only mine seems to have broken the end of the nipple off under the cowl cover, Because it is still in the end of the hose, I think I am going to have to replace the whole nipple assembly under the cowl cover..ouch !!!

Look at itwm #10:

The number "27" and the square box, has nothing to do with the hose routing being discussed.

Thanks, I am going to attempt the repair, I don't think removing the cowl cover will be overly complex but I will definitely let you know if I can use those scanned pages.

I think we are basically in the same boat, removing the cowl cover and connecting the hoses. PITA but not the worst thing.

Be VERY sure to not operate your wipers with the arms off, unless you can be certain you re-install them in the EXACT SAME position as when they are in the parked position. If need be, pictures can help.

Yeah, if the nipple is broke, you will have to get a replacement in order for the windshield wiper to work. I purchased a couple of used ones from VetteNuts for my car - might want to contact him for availability and price.
