Well I now have a new convertible top, a new clutch and components, and headers along with the rest of the exhaust. After I get a dyno tune in a week or so this should be it for improvements. Forgot to mention have new rotors and pads a number or under hood dress up pieces from RPI.
It has been a struggle to keep myself from buying things that I think the car needs. I keep seeing things about aftermarket shifters and that has me wondering if I can stop.
It's a slippery slope
You say this is all I need, then after a little while you see something else you think you need
and then something else, and so on and so forth
It's kinda' like chasing the Dragon
Lets see, most of you know all I have done to my car ????
Well still want 1. 4.10 gears
2. new seat covers
3. maybe ZO 6 trans
4. rear cradle support
5. this should be one, new clutch (still have the stock one)
6. cam and heads
7. Supercharger
8. cover some interior parts with leather
OK I'm done HA HA HA HA !!!!!!!
Think should just save for a C 7
In all my years, more than I'd like to admit, and a passel of various performance cars of all stripes, from Falcon Sprints to a HiPo '66 Mustang, to '69 Nova SS, various Corvettes, Camaro's, Porches, BMW's, hotrods, and the list goes on and on, I've found it nearly impossible to resist the temptation to personalize my vehicles to my own desires and liking. Only ever had one that I kept as it came from the factory which was a '71 LS5 big block 4 speed vette that had every option you could order with that power train. Sold it in a moment of weakness (insanity actually) because I was buying a house. Have always regretted that! Should have let the house go and kept the car! But anyway, isn't the car hobby all about fun and enjoying your ride, no matter what it is? Looking for that next performance or visual mod in all the periodicals thats out there is, in my opinion, a large and vastly enjoyable part of the car hobby. Life is short, enjoy! Best wishes to all!

You won't need 410 gears with a supercharger then you can move sc up higher
And um you may need new wheels......no not because they are black, but because you will need more traction

IN my 71 years of life , I have discovered the secret of life...
The secret is to be happy.........
If adding a mod makes you happy, then by all means make yourself happy.
also focus on all the things that are right with your life, not all the things that are wrong.
People bitch about their job, their marriage, their financial situation, etc. all the time, instead of being thankful for having a job, and someone to share their life, and the fact that they are not living in a refrigerator box under the overpass.

My thoughts are this, and I'm just a junior so forgive me. I got a 99 with 39K, garage queen etc. If I'm a DIY guy with plenty of $ and no real OEM "respect" for the car than it's a great platform for re-engineering. Supercharger, heads, cam all sorts of cool stuff. It will go fast. Incredibly so. But there has to be a trade off somewhere. When you sell, time spent in maintenance costs etc.
There is always something new to add. If you look at some of the guys that may be "happiest" with what they have it is because they are satisfied with what they have- which is not exactly crap. Can you always add/mod- sure. But in my experience, the cars that make icon status or go on the block for the most value are originals. Not modded frankencars. We are just lucky that for now, we have one that is afforadale enough to tear up. Which some will think is a plus and others a shame...
