It really is becoming laughable and I'm starting to expect it every time I leave my car.
Case in point...today I stopped at a big box home supplies shopping center for a quick in/out run for some light bulbs. I found a nice remote island where I fit my C5 nicely in leaving plenty of room on the outside parking stall line. There were practically no cars around me when I left only to return 10 minutes later to this.
Crazy considering how many people go out of their mind if a Corvette or other sports car owner takes up two slots.

Looks like he left plenty of room between his vehicle and yours, but taking up so many spots with his was a classless move.

Typical. As Jack said, at least he left you with some breathing room. I can't tell you how often I see large trucks and SUVs taking up multiple spots in a parking lot. (Saw half a dozen or so this evening when my lady and I went out for dinner and a movie.) Despite this fact, the chances are much higher that some lowlife will key our cars, simply because they're jealous. Most people don't realize that our C5's are at least 12 years old, and that a great deal of us aren't as wealthy as they might think. It's a tough world. At least we have beautiful cars and a great community to fall back on and share some laughs.

That's actually not bad what he did. He left you plenty of room and kept someone from being a real turd and parking right on top of you where a door opening could strike. My thought is that driver thought he was doing you a plus by parking there.
On a side note, when I'm out and about and not in my Vette, if I see one parked somewhere I'll intentionally park next to it as an enthusiast in order to keep some jealous type from doing it for spite. So not all the next to you parkers are jerks. Some of us are watching out for fellow wavers. Now, I won't do it if the car is out in Timbuktu and relatively safe mind you.

More importantly from his perspective, parking conventionally with a tow, he'll have a helluva time getting out if folks park on either side of him.
I think he did just fine. I don't see anyplace else in your photo to park that rig.

He might, but that's a Suburban (or like class SUV) and with the hitch alone he'll stick out; with the trailer hooked up, there's no way he's not gonna be "over" both in front and in back.

Im not defending this guy but it can be very difficult to back up a vehicle with a trailer. Anyone who tows knows this. If he parked in a regular spot and got boxed in he may not have been able to pull out safely.
you are absolutely right and when I park my truck and trailer I most definitely think about time to leave. What I'm saying when people take up all those spots even regular people get upset !!! you have seen when a car person takes up two spots and how people get mad it's no different in this picture !!!

I agree he left room on my passenger side but since there was a large Dodge Ram truck already parked on the other side of his trailer (and out of sight in my picture) it was a little concerning that he parked in between us effectively taking up four out of five stalls. He may haft left room, however I can only imagine how close he came to both my car and the Dodge truck when he parked.
In answer to your question, I would expect anyone who has to take up four parking stalls to park as far away as possible with other large vehicles. You would never see drivers of a semi trailer or school bus park like this as they would indeed park in the back of the lot and walk.

I park like this at the end of the parking lot when I am towing with my Suburban. No other way to park safely IMO. But he did a good job leaving a lot of space on your passenger side and probably saved you from some idiot who may have parked too close to your car.
My wife still cannot understand why I am so insistent, that she not take the 'vette shopping. I've seen enough door dings, broken outside rearview mirrors, and scuffed paint, to last me a life time.
(Besides, since that's her main recreational activity, these days, it means I get to drive it more

I tow a lot i have a 18ft car hauler and 18ft equipment trailer so i'm guilty of parking like this, with my expedition EL and my f350 crew cab pulling into a stall leave either my trailer in the isle, my truck or both so parking like this is not to be a jerk its to be safe i promise you it was not to get next to your c5 it was just available spot he could fit in
i dont see any thing wrong with it he left plenty of room from your car, parking away from every one is like putting a flag on your car saying hay dont mess with it when i use to i found food, drinks, people parked so close i could not even get in and i swear one time spite so now i just find a parking spot between nice cars and blend in for me works better (knock on wood)
some times it not a corvette thing...

I do it with my boat sometimes but it is always for just a few minuets and always way out (my truck is a full crew cab and a 17' boat) Funny..... since I got my Vette the boat seems to sit

Maybe he could have parked further out but I don't know the lot.

I understand that it must be difficult to park a large truck or SUV with trailer in any type of consumer-based parking lot, however what I don't understand is why the driver would think it's OK to take up four parking stalls in a heavily parked area of the lot?
After owning Corvettes and other nice cars over the years, I've learned that the best strategy is to not draw attention and to limit my time away from the car. I don't park far away all by myself and I don't take up two stalls in an effort to stake out territory. However, I have been guilty of circling a parking lot once or twice in search of a nice "safe" spot, like the one I have in this picture. I also don't expect to come out and not have another car parked next to me, however i don't understand how pulling a trailer justifies the driver to take four stalls in a well-populated area of the parking lot. I just think he should have parked further back in the lot where there were no other cars parked where he could have taken as much room as he needed instead of killing at least 3 stalls for other patrons.
If a Corvette driver or any other driver would have backed in and taken up two stalls in an effort to protect their car, everyone would have jumped on him and rightfully so. However if you drive a large vehicle and pull a trailer, it's justified?
This isn't a Vette thing as I would have been scratching my head and laughing just as much if I had parked our family SUV in the same spot. I just wouldn't have posted a picture.

he's pulling a trailer not parking his loved sports car in 2 stalls why does it bother you so much you was parked already its not like you could not find a parking? maybe he has a bad foot cant walk far? maybe he needs a hip replacement so he parked close?
his not trying to protect any thing his just trying to fit with the trailer there is a difference

I don't think it has anything to do with parking next to a vette, a lot of people nowadays are inconsiderate and don't care about anyone but themselves... it could have been a prius parked where your car was and that douche would have done the same thing

you might have a different outlook "if" you towed a trailer? he cant fit in a stall with a trailer and wont be able to pull out with out taking that cars on the sides with him. when i'm towing at stations or other places with small parking lots i do try to park out of the way but a parking lot that hold 1000+ cars i'm parking any place i can fit my setup if that bothers you o'well

I know my picture doesn't show the entire parking lot, however if he would have continued down another 15 stalls away from the parked cars he could have taken as much room as he needed as there were no other cars parked at the back end of the lot and he wouldn't have needed to sandwich in between cars that were already parked and preventing other cars from parking close to the entrance.
I don't own a trailer, however I have drove a moving truck with a trailer cross country and I know it's a PITA to park. However with my limited experience, I made sure I never parked it near the front of the hotel or front of the restaurant where I knowingly would have killed prime parking spots from other patrons.
Little stuff like this doesn't bother me, I just find it funny how people feel justified in being rude and selfish when there were clearly other options, and in this case the other option was only another 100 feet away. It's not about the Vette as I would have laughed just as much if I would have parked my SUV in the same spot. To me it's just another example of our "me first" society and not taking the effort to look out for the other guy.
