Default Center console aux plug

1999, M6, Vert. Installing ipod interface. Before I bust this, how does it unplug? Everything I see online has a different type of connector. I have pushed on the little tab and pulled. No luck. Thanks.

That's what i'm beginning to think. But I pulled with pretty good force and it did not come off. Thought I would ask before I break it.

Mine has no clip. It just pulls off. Now the one in the ash tray does have a clip.

I was unable to pull it off. So I snipped, and when I put back together, I crimped them back together. I spent more time on that dang connector than the whole project took! Even when I had the console out I messed with it and was unable to get it unconnected. Must have been a redesign at some point. 95% of console removal instructions show different connector. Oh well, back together and will have some tunes for up coming trip to the Corvette Museum, factory,Deals Gap and Gatlinburg.

There is a diabolical, evil, GM engineer who designs these connectors. Each is difficult, each is different and all of them are a clever way to drive you crazy.

Yep. GM hired the best pill bottle engineers who designed child proof caps as well as the CD jewel case engineers. lol

If people only knew what it takes to engineer / manufacture a car to US standards, they'd wonder how a car ever gets built.
