Factory temp settings are low speed on at 226 degrees and off at 219 degrees. High speed on at 235 degrees and revert to low speed at 226 degrees. As stated both fans run at low speed and high speed and fans are commanded off by the PCM when the vehicle speed exceeds 35mph.

You can force low speed operation at 185 degrees by turning on the AC. High speed operation with AC on is still 235 degrees.

I put in one of those Sac City fan controllers a few years back that comes with a couple of remotes, turn fans on at long stop lights etc. to try and keep it no higher than 205 or so since the auto tranny cooler is in with the radiator. Was handy least year when they were smogging the car and I knew it would be running for at least 15 minutes so I stood off to the side and was able to turn the fan on /off as I wanted, smog tech had no idea. lol
