Good on you OP! It's your car and none of us has to like what you do to it.

And good on you Stroker87 for finding the wheels the OP asked about.

Joking, hazing, honest opinions, they're all here.

OP just remember like any club/group there are some who think that if you don't do the same as they, then you just ain't a Corvette person. Plus your Corvette will blow up, fall apart or just plain melt. So beware. To them, maybe your just not Corvette material.

Now OP, just ask about oil, brake pads/rotors, wax/polishes, gasoline, tires oh and probably shift ***** too. If you survive that you'll be a veteran. Just remember you have to do the same or you ain't cool.

Oh, mandatory disclaimer: I'm not speaking to anyone in particular or this forum specifically or Corvettes. Just an opinion on group behavior. YMMV

this forum is filled with all kinds of members, some feel that corvette is perfect in every way and any one who mods it should should not be aloud to have one, guys that feel if you dont use the wax they do your just an idiot, then guys who feel the CORVETTE give them some type of elite status and the world envy's there car, some who will just tell you to use the search to find your answer and like me who just do what i like since its my car

with all that said this is a great place to find info about your car and any problem that you might have, the forum has helped me a great deal saved me a bunch of heartache and money too

main thing is just enjoy your car and do what you like!

You won't learn without a bit of honesty! Truth be told some opinions are just that, opinions in the end it's what you see fit to be on YOUR car. Just a heads up.

Just a suggestion; If you like that style, maybe a size combo more fitting a Corvette, such as 18/19, or 19/20 would be the most attractive. Personally, I kind of like them.

Some people feel entitled to offer their opinion, whether is was requested or not... If someone likes something, they can say so, they can also offer an honest opinion, in the form of a hazing event.... The worst thing that I see here is that many people will sugar coat their opinion tell the person what they want to hear, then laugh at them for their choice behind closed doors. I'm all for the honesty aspect, If I like them, I will say so, If I don't, I will also say so. At least my opinions are honest and from the heart. Honesty, be it positive or negative only validates my opinion...When I like something, you can take that to the bank as being and honest opinion, not some sugar coating that disguises my true feelings.

Over my time here, I've seen both types of people ( newbies ) ones that just want to be stroked and told what they want to hear.. then there or the others who appreciate the honesty.. and are willing to thank those of us who are honest, and willing to say ( What was I thinking " )... IM so happy I didn't waste my money on a poor choice.

Sugar coaters enable a newbie here to make bad choices in the name of saying something nice, even if they feel it isn't .
Hi Bill, always enjoy your writings and musings on various topics, this one being no different. Believe me when I say to all, I'm all for honesty and being direct on all topics, either imparting information that can be useful or asking for information from folks who have a lot more knowledge than I. That is what forums are all about, sharing a common interest, information, and experiences for the benefit of all, especially for newer folks who are just getting started in the automotive hobby place, in this case, Corvettes. It kind of gets me going when I see someone who (especially those who are new), respectfully and innocently, poses a question or offers an opinion and then gets pounced on and treated like a moron. I understand joshing and good natured having fun, but I think its important for us all to remember that even the most critical responses can be formulated in such a way as coming off as being supportive and helpful and encouraging new folks with our mutual hobby. If someone is being just plain crappy, then they deserve the verbal thrashing that follows. Just my thoughts and personal opinion on all this. Hope you are well Bill and best wishes to you and family!!
