Temps
As ET has said the car was designed to run hot. By putting a 180 thermostat in may actually cause more harm than good (I believe I remember ET stating this in the past but I may be wrong).
somewhat ?? a car that is programmed to run at 210 will overheat faster than one at 190 ??? I agree completely with Bill with how the car is designed, but sometimes in real life things are way different. I have to drive on dirt for a ways and the car is a vacuum cleaner so every bit more dirt takes away my cooling ???? I just said the way my brain works didn't say it wasn't haywire !!!!!!!
Factory temp settings are low speed on at 226 degrees and off at 219 degrees. High speed on at 235 degrees and revert to low speed at 226 degrees. As stated both fans run at low speed and high speed and fans are commanded off by the PCM when the vehicle speed exceeds 35mph.
You can force low speed operation at 185 degrees by turning on the AC. High speed operation with AC on is still 235 degrees.
