Stock Block and Drivetrain C5 Corvette Goes Over 200MPH!
When modifying a car for speed, a lot of components usually get changed. Namely, the engine is thoroughly upgraded, as is the gearbox. Not with this C5 though.

The video says it's a stock '95 Corvette then goes on to say it's twin turbo

Glad you guys didn't go into brain surgery. Stock block and transmission are the statements, and I thought it clearly stated.
I am always glad when somebody choses a c5 for speed contests. Because the price of the car has fallen, the aftermarket has, understandably , moved on. Few will invest thousands in a ten thousand dollar car. Which, although obviously this is a quality deal, makes me root for the C5 as underdog, even when reality differs.

You just have to ask yourself, if your building a car for a top speed run why do racers pick the FRC body style while anyone who owns a big window coupe says their roof line is more aerodynamic and therefore faster? The fastest C5 on the salt is a FRC car too and has run 250+ mph.

Actually, how can we trust any statement made by the source when they started off by calling it a 1995 Corvette?

Local shop here knows the owner and car. There's a LOT of compromises in it and it's essentially a race car which makes it not that impressive to me. That it's a stock trans isn't a big deal IMO because the T56 is a piece known for its ability to take a ton of power and abuse. My car is a coupe, makes about the same power, went 202 at Texas Mile, and is no compromise, can drive it at will comfortably, air conditioning and all

Im sure he meant a 99 --- they should of edited it... for top end a stock block and drivetrain with boost will hold up just fine---- the weak link in this form of racing is the hypo pistons --- but well tuned and not abused (other then 200mph full throddle) it should go on,.. dont fix what it Broke
not sure of aero verus big window or not but lighter is ALWAYS better --- all I know is that up to 150 FRC/conv design seems faster --- I know nothing of 200mph speed zone
