Default Header install tips

Hey guys. I have had my 99 FRC for 18 months and have not had the time to make repairs and install mods due to moving to a new house and completing work on my C4. I finally got my butt in gear and started. Last 2 weeks I have completed the following:

Purchased and installed new IPC
Installed new flasher
Purchased TPMS and had installed with new tires (the shop had no idea what lifting puck were). I brought mine with me and showed them how to use
Removed drivers door panel and fixed rattle (still missed one)
Purchased new console and installed

When I purchased the car it came with (not installed) stainless headers, not sure of brand and Varam CAI. Neither have been installed yet and that's next on the list. I do not have a lift so any tips on the install of both would be appreciated.

Thanks for all of the help. You guys have a vast amount of knowledge and I would be lost without this forum

The Vararam just have patience, the headers you should have the car up around 21 inches off the ground

You can stack 2x8 's or 10's to get car up !!! drive up on them !!!

awesome for you brother.

I am a jack stand warrior myself.

First tip i have is get the car high...very high. I used some blocks of wood to jack the car high enough to slide the driver header in from the bottom...(LG super pro)

second is to remove the coil packs to ease in your hands while starting the bolts.

Third and these steps are obviously optional LOL
i like to remove my fuel line (driver side) so that i can reach the back bolt easier.

hope this helps. Good luck!

I did a few installs of XSPower headers with the above height. Extra height wont hurt.
