Ok forum members...
The wife and I had another of our discussion about FRC vs Z06.....
She is still hung up on the idea of Creature comforts.
In all honesty...How many more creature comforts does the FRC have vs the Hardtop...
She is hung up on 6 way seats and telescopic steering wheel options......
Z06 comes standard w/power drivers seat (optional memory pkg) and the
steering wheel has the tilt feature. The car is WAY more nimble and WAY
more fast.In my opinion it is just as comfortable. :yesnod:
..But no run flats...and no peace of mind for the wife. That's alright for me,but is it ok with her? There are some mighty unattractive people out there.

HELP, I need you persuasive input........

I thought I wanted creature comforts and have a very comfortable car in my current daily driver.....................just get Lloyds three piece mats if you feel the need to.............. ;) :chevy

Get a AAA membership like I did. I paid extra to get flatbed truck service if I ever need it in the Vette. No problems with the Z so far, but my wife has used them to change a flat on her car, took them 15 total mintues to respond after she called it in.

On that note I say get her a cell phone and teach her how to use the compressor/goop. How many wives out there are daily driving cars with spares without a clue how to change a tire?
I just tell mine to use a can of pressurized tire goop on her Lexus and limp home if there is ever an issue. If that can't work and I can get to the scene in 5-10 minutes, that's fine. If not, I tell her to call the cops for a police presence until more help arrives. :yesnod: Run flats are a nice feature but when is the last time any of you had a flat. I haven't had one while on the road in 10 years.
On the creature comfort front, the only difference is the power telescoping steering column. With the good 6 way power memory seat on the driver's side, the Z06 is just fine. I say remind her it will hold it's value better....
Comfort features don't fetch jack in resale, uncompromising performance does. You may never want to sell it but this is a pretty good argument. ;)
If you really want creature comforts, I'm not sure any Corvette is the right choice. Think Mercedes. On the other hand, if you've already got her talked into a Corvette, then comfort is not the key issue, and you might as well go for the 'ultimate' Corvette ... :)
I found the Z06 seats to be more comfortable than the fully adjustable coupe seats. And a tilt steering wheel is all anybody needs, really.. why telescope? Just move the seat closer! :)
I do sort of miss the telescoping wheel when I drive the Z06, and I miss the HUD ("HerZ" is an '01). But those shortcomings are more than made up for by the nimbleness and power the Z06 has.
I agree the seats are more comfortable than the sport seats in my coupe.
btw, "FRC" (Fixed Roof Coupe) and Z06/Hardtop are the same thing. Assume you meant coupe.... :seeya
From: Muncie, Indiana ...... Can I buy an amplifier on time ... I ani't got no money now but I'll pay you before I die
Re: Z06 creature comforts...... (jim482)
A FRC and Hardtop is one in the same. Only built in 99 and 00.
The six way power passenger seat wasn't an option on the FRC. Actually the 99 FRC had very few option offered until the end of the model year. There weren't that many 00 built. It many be hard to find a FRC with that many creature comforts on it.

I have a 2000 FRC with ALL available options.
(See my SIG)
It does have a six way power drivers seat for the driver only. No lumber or bolster ajustments. The passenger seat is manual with no height ajustment.
FRCs were not available with telescoping stearing columns.
Are you sure it is actually on the car or you have just been told it is on the car?
I like my FRC, but as far as creature comforts go it is identical to the Z06 with the exception that the FRC has the 12 disk changer available as an option.
If you have the funds get the Z06 it is a no-brainer.
Same car from a creature comfort point of view.
Not the same car from a performance point of view.
The Z06 kicks the crap out of an FRC unless it is very
heavily moded. Still if you get a good enough deal on
the FRC it will pay for a lot of mods.
If you want creature comforts look to a coupe or a
convertible.
