If you're getting the cam kit, it should come with valve springs and pushrods, as well as valve seals. They also sell a basic install kit which includes a new balancer bolt, front time chain cover gasket and water pump gaskets.
I'd also upgrade oil pump to a ported LS6 or high flow pump of your choice, as well as an upgraded time chain like an LS2 or C5R chain....
I did Two cam only install. Fun project. What these guys said is right. Now, One more thing, If you ever decide to put a supercharger on it, You will have to pin the pulley. Its better to pin the pulley now while you have everything out then do it later all again. Another thing that is a must on these C5s, Change your pulley out. The stock ones are junk and break on people with less miles then what you have. Check to see if your pulley is bent. Start your car open the hood and shine a flashlight down at your pulley. If its bent, you will see it. Ive had 3 C5s with around 50 000 miles on them and two of them had bent pulleys. There Junk...Ive always bought the powerbond brand........
You can drop scroll down and choose the cam of your choice!
Clutch? That's a touchy subject around here lol
Depends what you intend to use the car for!
Daily driving. There's 50,000 miles on the clutch now, shifts fine but my 2nd gear synchro is broke. Wanted to make sure the stock clutch can handle power increase.
I'm not sure what cam specs to get, like I said I was looking for reliability, good amount of lope and a decent power increase
I may be a bit off base here... But the car will be more fun, and more usable with a properly working transmission, than one where you have to skip second gear or perfectly rev match.
I vote for fix the problem with your car before modifying it.
i'd leaver your self a little extra for just in case, i just did a cam swap once it was all a part i replaced idler pulleys, tension pulleys & valve cover gaskets my cars also around 50k miles didnt plan on swapping them but once every thing was apart seen they was needed
