Default Check Engine Light

Is there a way to check if the check engine light is operating correctly?

Looks like I have an issue because the engine light is not coming on

You could have a lamp burned out on the instrument panel. Or - has the CEL been disabled in a tune? Someone with a Tech II tool can manually turn on the CEL which would eliminate the possibility of a burned out lamp.

Well starting on Tuesday it started working during initial start up but, this afternoon it's not working again. The car seems to run fine, I don't noticed anything different.
Kind of weird. I ran the on board diagnostic, Still shows no codes, other than my left rear tpms sender is not sending. That tpms sender has been out for over three years. I Will be replacing all of them when I install new tires.
