Most brake pads and rotors will work just fine for the average Corvette enthusiast to stop the car.. Only those who push their car to its absolute performance limits will need to focus on specific brake needs.
Now aesthetics, are something else... with extreme performance not being a factor, the factory stock braking system, is better than most. The OEM compound works great. It's what I've been using for 17 years . My car stops in very impressive fashion, especially when on a back road and encountering a moving deer across the road.. It also stop at evert traffic light, and stop sign. Ive had to make a few panic stops over the years, and never felt fade or helpless to stop the car. My rotors are also pretty. An important factor, that goes along very well with shiny.
Some people are willing to spend 1000 dollars more for prettier rotors. But you could not find better drilled and slotted rotors and pads in the 250 dollar range than Brake Motive. I do not have statistics of the mortality rate of people using Brake Motive rotors and pads, but I don't think it is significant.

Well, you obviously never drove it too hard...glad it worked for you. Do a few hard HPDE's and your drilled rotors will be cracked piles of scrap.
Because it worked for you doesn't mean it's endorsed as capable.
Really?
Porsche, BMW Motorsport, Chevy Performance, various superbike manufacturers must all be wrong. They're there for looks! C'mon, man. As a note to the OP, R1 Concepts do an outstanding job, and I've driven them hard. NO warping or unexplained piles of scrap. BTW, whomever you choose to go with, make sure to use high-carbon rotors and insure that the holes are chamfered as well.
I see you stole my joke... about ten years ago I use to say all the time here on the corvette forum that deliveries were a problem when ording something from the internet,.. I said FedEx and UPS merged and are now known as Fed-Up. Wondering if my long standing joke here had anything to do with your Avatar?

Too funny- I love it! But the truth is I'm a longtime Army and now Gov guy...
Brakes are a known weakness for the C5. So StopTech slotted BBK for me. No holes ever in my rotors. Even Porsche, BMW etc... bow to sales pressure.
BTW, once I got these done, I was so surprise at how crappy stock brakes were, I put StopTech brakes on all my 5 other cars. My whole family runs on StopTech Slotted brakes.
