Default Borla install

I have a Borla System coming in a week or so and do not have access to a lift. How high do I have to get the rear end in order to fit this in without too much trauma ? Thanks Bob C

The general consensus is the car needs to be 30-36" off the ground to get the old exhaust off in one piece. If you don't care about taking the stock exhaust off in one piece, I would think it could be a bit lower.

If you do not have equipment to safely do the job (good floor jack and jack stands), consider having a muffler shop do the swap.

In the same boat but a bit ahead of you. Attempted to change my exhaust, axle back last Friday night. Got the *** of the car up as high as i could. Probably a bit above 2 feet. Disconnected the pipes dropped the sway bar out of the way. Pulled the tabs out of the rear hangers, dropped the mufflers down to the floor.

But it was not high enough to be able to pull over axle pipes out. Needs to be pretty high up so you can drop the mufflers down far enough to get the pipe out. It is now at my local shop.............they have a lift!

What kind of jacks are you guys using?

My jack gets it high enough...if not a piece of wood on the jack just to slide them out really fast works lol

The only issue I ever ran into with getting it high enough was Getting the driver side header in.

What if it's a TI exhaust that you'd want to re sell?

In that case I wouldn't cut it, for whatever reason I just assumed it was a stock base model c5 catback. If its a TI don't cut it, base model, cut it lol.
