I recently rebuilt my transmission and not happy with results and will not take it back to same shop just want to get it repaired right. "High Trans Temp". I joined this website hoping I can get advise and recommendations. I appreciate any advise.
You need to provide more information about why you're not happy with it. "High trans temp" implies it's running hot but isn't very specific. Is that the problem or are there other problems? Is the car stock? What converter are you running? Many times small problems are easily fixed, they just have to be diagnosed.

Reason: fixed spelling
First welcome, welcome, welcome to the forum
You are fixin to save yourself LOTS of money, heartbreak, and headache...
I'm not sure I'd write off the shop that did your work, but I WOULD arm myself with ALL the information I could to go back with an above average knowledge of the C5 transmission... how it works, what is wrong, and what needs to be done to rectify it...and this IS the place to get that done.
Give as much info as you possibly can, in detail... ask LOTS of questions, the ONLY dumb ones are the ones you DON'T ask...
Get armed and then get it fixed...
This might be something simple. There is one way and one way only to put transmission fluid in the C5. You must be on a level surface (and its WAY easier on a lift) and you remove the transmission fill plug and put in the recommended fluid until it spills out of the hole. You then put the plug back in and start your car and bring it up to normal operating temp and you add fluid while the car is running! Failure to do so will result in not enough fluid and you'll get the High Trans Temp error. If the shop that did the work didn't know how to correctly fill a C5 trans, I'd bet this is your issue. If you haven't driven many miles, your trans is probably ok but you need to have this checked right now. While there are tons of 4L60E transmissions out there, the C5 version is unique and the trans shop MUST know how to do it correctly. It's not done the same way a 4L60E is done in a Camaro! Take it to someone that knows how to work on a C5 A4. The service manual way is the ONLY way! GL!!
Automatic or Manual? How hot is it running, and under what conditions. How hot is the vehicle running at the same time that you have concluded the tranny is running hot?
The only reason I posted anything was that the auto does have a cooling line that runs through the bottom of the radiator. If the car is running hot, so probably is the tranny fluid.
My first order would be to take it back as it could be any number of things, if it was not running hot before, then they probably did or did not do something to cause it. I think that would fall under any warranty?

SO... the car is having overheating issues as well?
I would print off post #4 and take it with me to the shop... and make sure they are aware of the proper filling sequences.
