You should be right in that range!

Got back from tuner today, didn't quite make my goal 437/400. Maybe because I decided to stick with my hurricane cai vs. The vararam...just didn't like the look or fitment of the vararam. I'm happy non the less...for now

Yeah, I considered the intake an TB, just didn't want to spend another 2k for a few HP when I'm going to add a 150 shot soon.

I have heads/cam/intake/Full exhaust and I'm all but 500whp NA.. But obviously bolting a D1 Procharger on a stock motor it will make more then that with out touching a single thing. Remember though you go FI your gonna need to upgrade the fuel system at a minimum. And that's a PIA on the vett lol and also making room and moving a bunch of stuff around in your engine bay to fit the Air to Air, blower, piping etc..

Cars been tuned a while now running great, just wanted to update this post.
car ended up making 475whp 440fflb of torque on a loaded dyno trough stock Ti axle Back. Changed a few things since then also having the intake ported and added borla straight pipes. See if I can squeak another 10-15whp out of it. Thought about swapping the fast 102 for a MSD but not sure the cost is worth the couple more HP's

I also just sold my 03 cobra that was making 475rwhp and bought a 02 Z06. My car is bone stock and I just purchased kooks 1 7/8 headers, off road xpipe, cam, springs, rods, vararam intake, harmonic ballancer, timing chain/sprockets, oil pump, and gaskets. I am hoping to make 430 ish after everything is intalled and tuned. I have about $3000 in parts so far. I also just replaced the clutch 2 weeks ago. You have to remember that the 03-04 cobras weigh 3700 lbs while c5 Z's weigh 3100 pounds, thats 600 lbs difference which is huge. I truly beleive a 400rwhp Z06 will beat a 500rwhp cobra, the Z's also hook up a hell of alot better and are just easier to drive fast in my opinion.

it definatly takes around 100 more horse for a mustang to walk a Z06, especially at higher speeds, my buddy's 13 cobra makes around 600whp and we run side by side, one Mis timed shift from either car will determine who wins lol I do have a 200 shot on it now also which puts me damn close to 700whp and the car is a rocket now.

Just bought a already modded 2003 z06 with 30k miles. It was owned by a professional corvette tuner. It has vararam/112 lsa cam kit 234/598 lift/corsa exhaust and kooks lt headers with ls7 clutch mild ported stock heads.. made 450 rwhp on mustang dyno...and 472 on dynojet dyno. totally streetable, runs cool pulls very hard over 3200 rpm.. need drag radials with this one. I have had 3 supercharged cars and they have there issues over time.. I like this better. did not spend a dime, work already done when I bought car.

What dyno was that on? If a dynojet, that is rather low for H/C/I, but if on a Mustang that would equal 450 or more on a dynojet. BTW the Vararam is not really going to show up on a dyno, maybe 2-5 HP difference at most.

There is usually about a 10-12% variance between Dynojet and Mustang.

The Dynojet measures the torque off the weight at the rollers and subsequently calculating the HP. The Mustang is simulating the weight of the vehicle itself. That's where the difference comes in.

You're going to need forced induction, or more cubes for 500rwhp. A supercharger kit is going to be the easiest route. The simplest/cheapest ones will get you to 500rwhp easy.

With the exception of a roots type, like a used Magnacharger. OTOH, they look fantastic polished, and the TQ is everywhere. Besides, everybody knows you've got a badass car, with that new hood.

i disagree, my car has been on the same dyno (mustang dyno) 3 different times this year and and put down pretty much the same numbers every time 475rwhp 415rwtq. my parts are nothing special or high end i think with better heads, exhaust, intake manifold and bigger cam 500rwhp can be gotten

i'm pretty happy with my setup for what it is TSP headers, prc 2.5 243's, BTR stg2 cam ported 92 fast stock compression, now mamo heads & intake LG headers and bigger cam has to be worth 20 to 25 rwhp i would think?

Full bolt ons including intake manifold/tb will still need a happy dyno to get 437 rwhp.

Generally it's headers/axle back/intake on these cars.

I agree, you won't come close to 400 with that.
