Default Ac problem

Any ideas on my ac not working. My compressore clutch is engaged, my coolant fan stays on. But it does not blow cold.

I was wondering it it could be the evaporator tube orifice, because I read they can become clogged.

Huh, I have had a few vehicles that the compressor didn't engage because of low freon, I mean that is the way the system is supposed to work ????

If too low on Freon, I don't think they will engage either, but that is not from experience, just from reading on this forum. If the tube is clogged, and everything else is ok, from experience with this issue, it will still run but not be cold. But, if the tube is clogged, you probably have bigger issues down the road. You probably need to get a system check which will tell you if something like that is happening.Have you had any work done on the AC recently? Maybe just give a little more info?

Maybe none of mine were LOW enough to stop engaging... here in Oklahoma in July it doesn't take very long to notice the A/C isn't working very well... usually low freon... and IF I'm paying attention I can usually tell by the way the compressor kicks on and off... but, I smell what your steppin in bro... you probably have forgot more about HVAC than i know

I totally agree...
It's a SEALED system...so contamination comes from within

FYI... be careful who you take your C5 to work on... the HVAC should be fairly straight forward but, shops make a living REPLACING things...
I would be surprised if it isn't just low on freon... but, I have been wrong a few times... Good luck let us know how it turns out

By the way... have you pulled your codes yet?

Could be low on freon... could be a bad compressor... could be a clogged evaporator tube... could be a blend door... could be a VERY EXPENSIVE day at the shop without knowing what your walking into... JMHO

Might browse thru this...
