I recently purchased a set of of ventmasters for my 04 C5, however every one I have talked to about trying to put them on say these are not correct for this model. If any one out there has a set the could take a pic of & Email me at patandlee78@***.net would be much appreciated. Ive had the C5 for about 4 months& it rocks. I also have an 82 Collector edition that I also love. I bought the C5 after being told every thing I wanted to do my Collector was either illegal ,immoral are fattenin in southern Calif.

I've never heard of that either, after google searching it appears to be a prop for the rear hatch to cut down on wind turbulence... looks kinda silly to be driving around like that in my opinion
I vaguely remember reading about them a few years ago. They were touted (as mentioned above) as a means of reducing turbulence in a coupe when driving with the top out (and windows down?).

A friend of mine had it for his 2001, the difference it made with the targa top off was impressive. If I remember right he needed one for each latch so it took two
Really? That is actually your biggest concern? I get bug guts on the inside of the back glass from riding with targa off and you are worried that this would suck dust in?>?>?

Surely you must just be trolling.
Look at your back bumper after some spirited driving. That will be inside your hatch now.
I can see the logic. that is not actually how it works though. The open windows/targa allow airflow in and the hatch funnel/parachute create a high pressure area at the back. Think about the windows in the back of a mini-van that open at an angle like the hatch would be. While a mini-van back hatch gets covered, the vent windows don't suck dirt in. Same situation.
I'm still not ready to go buy one myself, but the idea is sound. If they wanted a real winner, they would make a way to open and close the "vent" hatch electronically as needed.
