Default Valve Springs!

So I recently bought an 02Z, torch red, with a 100K miles...car drives great...but we decided we better change the valve springs out at that mileage. So we bought a set of the blue performance springs...popped the valve covers and the car has the yellow springs that were so popular as a replacement a few years ago....did the 02's come with these stock? If not , I guess I might have wasted my time and money...we decided to replace them anyway as well as he seals...just tuned the car with a wide band and hp tuners....also new plugs...feels like it picked up about 25hp just with that.

Oh the I was trying out the fit of the 06 Z wheels that I previously bought for my now totaled 09 wide body coupe...they are up for sale.

Did the same thing when I bought my 03. My stock springs were yellow and the replacements I ordered from Summitt are blue. They are the correct springs they just changed the color. You have the right ones.

Yeah you're good. I just swapped out my stock yellows for the replacement blues a week ago. Cheap insurance.

I broke a blue one, I track my car. I put Pac 1218X on it. The 1218 would be a good choice.

Ut oh, that's not what I or many others want to hear. That's the first time I've heard of a blue spring failure. How many miles were on them?

Yes, the PAC 1218's are good springs. I've had the 1518's (nitrided version of the 1218's) on my LT1 for 7-8 years full of major abuse now without issue.

I bought my 03 with a GM LS6 crate engine in it at 48K miles, and supposedly that engine had about 10k or less on it then. So I would guess somewhere around 25k miles.

I didn't F around and put the 1218X in because I was going to track the car.

Mine had the original yellows & the replacement GMPP springs were blue. I replaced mine as preventative.
