It was raining here this morning, so I decided to clean up the engine compartment a little and add some parts to update it a little. The painted parts are from RPI in Torch Red..The chrome caps were purchased from American Car Craft, and the chrome fender covers were purchased from a CF member. Here are some pics..before and after..
Because it would most likely look like I did it, not what I want.
You do know painted FRC are about $280
There have been a BUNCH of guys surprise themselves by doing this mod
You can save a bundle of money and get the satisfaction of having done it yourself...
Plan B... there might be someone in the local Corvette Club or near you on the forum that would help you with that project... If I were closer I'd help... good luck either way
If you are remotely interested in the DIY do a GOOGLE search on painting your FRC.... LOTS of great info
Plan C... a good local paint shop would probably do them for $100

I did a set years ago using Ford Red high-temp engine paint. I sanded them for a few hours with my pneumatic random orbital sander and got them smooth enough to where the first coat of primer made them smooth as a baby's behind. I primered them and sanded a couple more times after that then gave them a few coats of base color and cleared them with a few more coats. I wet-sanded between coats. Finally, I sanded them with increasingly finer sand paper and finished up with 2000 grit and polish.
