Default Quick electrical/function/alarm question

So it's 0430 and I hope to make a subtle exit as driving the night before would not of been a good decision. Pop the trunk and check for my bag..All good. Open the door (I did not leave the car locked) and the alarm goes off- and it's LOUD. I fumble for what seems like eternity (5-10 seconds) pushing every button on the fob, and it quits. I don't think I hit the panic button by accident but is there another plausible reason why it went off as I opened the door? I'll refer to the manual as well later but it's still early and I don't want to open the door again.

#2. I get down the block and realize that while everything is working (headlights, heater, HUD etc) the car is dark on the inside. Not one light on- Climate, radio, dash (except for MPH light which is on/blue). The LED on rear view is on. Courtesy lights work but inside all dark. I get home (the HUD was really handy), turn the car off and the dang lights come on. Get out, shut door, wait about 10 seconds and everything shuts down as it should. I'm sure this is something simple but if anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate them. I'll go through the manual today on programming etc.. Too early to go back out there-I already woke up the entire town of Firestone, CO... Thanks ..

So downloaded the manual so I could read it on my PC. Used the Fob to unlock the door (even though it was unlocked already) as I read that disarms the car. No alarm upon opening. For now, I set lock/Alarm to off. Next choice was just "alarm" so I assume that means panic button which you can't cancel. I set everything else as well.

The car maybe has never been driven at night as the dimmer was pretty far left. I turned it clockwise till it clicked then backed it back off so as not to turn on another feature. I'll try again tonight. Perhaps this morning was a combination of new to car, very dark and very tired.

The dimmer control being turned to the lowest setting is the most likely cause of your dash lights problem if they lit up when you turned the car off.

I'm not sure on your alarm. I've had my car parked in the garage in the winter doing some work on it. I would never lock it and it never alarmed when I opened a door. If you lock the doors without the FOB my car will still eventually set the alarm. But, the doors have to be locked and you say they weren't?

The dimmer dial was likely your issue with no interior lights.

Probably just stupidity on my part and the fact both events happened simultaneously. I had popped the trunk first so now that I think about it, that should of activated the alarm I would guess if it was set. Then I probably went to open the door (trunk only really opens if you open a cabin door and shut it causing positive pressure) with FOB in hand and hit panic I'm guessing. That did cause panic so it works well!. By the time I got down the street and realized no lights but everything was working I turned up the HUD and headed home. Downloaded the manual and only then thought of the dimmer switch...Never even looked at it before..

No They were not and here is the weird thing- It just happened to me again in my garage. I (Previously) tried to disarm everything through the DIC and you can't really. You can select horn or lights or both. I pulled off the cover (car had sat for 24 hours maybe) opened the door and BANG. Push all sorts of stuff and it stops. I think the door unlock is the one to push. And perhaps just hitting door unlock before I open a door will disarm anything activated but the door was not locked.
The only thing I can think of is the trunk. It does not open well (need air pressure to pop it enough to get a finger under it) and it does not close so hot either. I have seen the trunk open warning when I thought it was closed. On incident #1, I had just popped the trunk (no alarm) shut it (but maybe not entirely) then opened the door. ALARM. Today the dang thing went off (in the garage-not locked) and after shutting down the alarm, starting the car and backing up I got the Trunk Open warning again. Maybe that's it? The manual is not real clear but does state:

I haven't read everything here but I get the jist.

If you "lock" the car with the fob and your driver door for whatever reason (electrical obviously) doesn't lock, you'll set off the alarm when opening the if unlock wasn't used on your fob.

Wife and I went for dinner, locked and armed as always, we get to the car and I needed to go in the trunk for a second, before I could unlock it with the fob. Wife opened her door and Alex went off.

Short in the door somewhere causing her side to not work on occasion
