Default Lower heat greater performance

Hey I have a question. Remember what we used to do with Chevelles or Novas and awesome cars like that when they would block up the hinge areas of the hood to create a cowl induction type of set-up? I wonder if that would work on my 2000 Corvette if I put a block spacer on the hook that catches the lock when you close the hood and this way would leave the space to allow the suction of heat out of the motor at the windshield. Would that work? Or does it need to stay closed to keep a better airflow to my air induction system?

There are companies out there making something like this for c6's at least. I don't know if anyone has done any actual testing about aero dynamics, air induction or actual cooling that is achieved from it.

Oh and they are not cheap either.
